Our final session included a number of QUT alumni, all working in different fields post-PhD, as they spoke about Life beyond the PhD.

The third day of the program was a Writing Retreat facilitated by Dr Abbe Winter from QUT Design Lab, and the CIESJ Faculty Writing Coach.

Thank you to all of our presenters who spoke so knowledgeably about their topics.  Thank you also to our HDR Working Committee who helped to build a diverse and relevant conference program.  The Committee included Kelsey Adams, Emma Rees, Marcelo Dias and Melissa Giles.

Some of the early feedback received included:

“I learnt so much”

“The Writing Retreat was amazing!”

“Life beyond the PhD was highly valuable with relatable panelists doing diverse and interesting things.”

“I hope this event becomes a mainstay. It’s a program I’d love to attend regardless of the stage I am at in my PhD”

“Attending winter school reinvigorated my interest in research”

“The research methodologies were energetically and engagingly presented from presenters who were very experienced in their topic”

Thank you to everyone for coming along.  We look forward to seeing you at Winter School in 2025!
