QUT Centre for Justice Briefing Paper Series: The body politics of energy, health and well-being

Australian public policy is increasingly focusing on supporting successful ageing and the idea of living better and longer. Yet there has been little attention given to the role that domestic energy consumption plays in helping older people manage their health and well-being.

In their QUT C4J Briefing Paper authors Dr Theresa Harada and Professor Ross Gordon use their research to demonstrate that householders have different capacities to manage domestic energy costs to support their health, well-being and comfort.  Their paper advocates for an energy justice approach to provide greater support for people as they age.
