QUT Centre for Justice was pleased to host a morning tea to welcome Gina Masterton as QUT Centre for Justice and QUT Carumba Institute’s newly appointed Indigenous Australian Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Gina commenced on 1 November 2021 in a three year position funded by the Vice Chancellor, in recognition of Black Lives Matter.
The Vice Chancellor attended morning tea and spoke of the University’s commitment to justice research, and the important role that this appointment will play in this commitment.
Gina was welcomed by QUT Centre for Justice Director, Professor Melissa Bull. Pro Vice Chancellor, Indigenous Strategy, Angela Barney-Leitch, was also in attendance as well as a number of indigenous scholars from across QUT.
We warmly welcome Gina and look forward to seeing the development of her research, and her involvement in indigenous engagement across the University.
