The Children and Youth Research Centre (CYRC) are hosting a symposium on The Prevention of Violence Against Children: Research, Policy and Practice Symposium from 17- 18 November, 2015. The Symposium will be held at QUT’s Gardens Theatre Foyer, Gardens Point Campus, Brisbane, Australia.
About the Symposium
The Symposium aims to promote and facilitate communication, discussion and collaboration in working towards effective change in the prevention of violence against children. It provides an opportunity for researchers, policy makers, professionals and community organisations from Australia and internationally to come together and capitalise on the benefits that can be gained from sharing diverse viewpoints and experiences.
The Symposium offers a three-pronged approach across research, policy and practice to examine and discuss critical issues concerned with
- Violence against children and its prevention, drawing on both global and local perspectives;
- Effective prevention systems and policies; and,
- Innovations in prevention and intervention from interdisciplinary and cross-sector standpoints.
