Three criminologists from the School of Justice, Professor Kerry Carrington, Professor John Scott and Dr Angela Dwyer have been presenting seminars on their research in Argentina.
On 25 November they presented their research to the Faculty of Law, University of Buenos Aries (Faculdad de Derecho, Universidad de Buenos Aries). 14 of Argentina’s Presidents completed their law degrees at the university.
Today and tomorrow Ange Dwyer, Kerry Carrington and John Scott teach into a Masters summer school for graduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Law, National University of Litorel (Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe).
Kerry Carrington drew upon research published in Feminism and Global Justice, to discuss the global discrepancies in violence against women, comparing the different forms that violence takes in Latin America compared Asia, the Middle East and Australia. Professor John Scott presented research that compares male sex work in Argentina with other parts of the world arising from his recently edited book recently reviewed in the Huffington Post Male Sex Work. Dr Angela Dwyer spoke about her research on the policing of transgender, gay and lesbian youth.
