Professor John Scott was recently invited to provide a keynote presentation for a two-day annual conference organised by The Korean National Police University (KPNU). The university is a leading research-oriented university in the field of police science and is an institution focused on training future leaders in law enforcement in South Korea.
Scott presented on the topic of remote and regional policing alongside other invited guests from Australia and Japan. A highlight of the conference was the use of Gen AI to simultaneously translate presentations into Korean, Japanese and English onto large screens in the auditorium in real time. Several academics from KPNU have recently visited QUT and Scott is seeking to develop closer ties with the university in teaching and research.
