Publication: Governments love to talk about ‘shared responsibility’ in a disaster – but does anyone know what it means?

QUT Centre for Justice members Associate Professor Rowena Maguire,  Professor Amanda Kennedy, Annastasia Bousgas, Associate Professor Bridget Lewis and Centre Director Professor Melissa Bull address this question in their recently published article in The Conversation.

In light of the recent devastating floods in Queensland and New South Wales, the authors discuss the concept of ‘shared responsibility’ and what this means. They also discuss the necessity for clear roles for governments, emergency services, the military, the charity sector, volunteers and individuals during times of natural disaster.
