Event: Why Southernising Criminology?

QUT School of Justice Adjunct Professor Maximo Sozzo will speak at University of Oxford Faculty of Law on “Why Southernising Criminology?”

This event will be held online on 10 March 2021 from 3.00pm to 4.00pm (UTC)

Máximo Sozzo is Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the National University of Litoral (Argentina). He was Straus Fellow at the Law School of the University of New York (2010/2011) and Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of Bologna (2016). He has been Visiting Professor in several universities (Bologna, Hamburg, Málaga, Sao Paulo, Nacional de Colombia, etc). He has published several books, articles and chapters related to different topics in the field of criminology in Spanish, English, Portuguese, Italian and Mandarin. He has recently published in English Southern Criminology (with K. Carrington, R. Hogg, J. Scott y R. Walters; Routledge, 2019); The Palgrave Handbook of Criminology and the Global South (Eds., with K. Carrington, R. Hogg and J. Scott; Palgrave, 2018) and The Political Economy of Punishment Today. Visions, Debates and Challenges (Eds., with D. Melossi and J. A. Brandariz; Routledge, 2018).
