Over 85 justice professionals and academic staff attended, including guest speaker Ms Christine Nixon, former Chief Commissioner of the Victorian Police. Ms Nixon drew upon her 40 years of practical leadership and current research to deliver an insightful and engaging presentation about women in law enforcement and the workforce.

Ms Nixon shared her belief that the introduction of quotas is now the best way forward given the limited change in the representation of women over the years. She also called for the transformation of recruitment, retention and promotion systems to assist with this process.

Ms Nixon discussed this topic in more detail on ABC’s Lateline program the night before the breakfast. Her interview can be viewed by clicking here.
