Professors Kerry Carrington, John Scott and Reece Walters from the Crime and Justice Research Centre, School of Justice, Faculty of Law, are currently in Beijing attending the 2016 Asian Criminological Society Annual Meeting.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Crime prevention and control under the perspective of Globalization” and brings together distinguished scholars and keynote speakers from around the globe.
Professor Kerry Carrington was invited as a keynote speaker for the conference and presented on “Southern Criminology: Re-thinking Crime and Justice in Asia and the Global South”.
Professor Carrington also presented a paper with CJRC colleagues Professor Scott and Professor Walters on “Southern Criminology and Global Justice”.
The next conference for the Asian Criminological Society will be co-hosted with the Crime and Justice Research Centre in July 2017. The conference theme is “Crime and Justice in Asia and the Global South” and will be held in Cairns, Australia.
