Homicide statistics challenge stereotypes

homicide types

The Australian Institute of Criminology National Homicide Monitoring report includes information about the number, types, and distribution of homicide in Australia. Contrary to stereotypes about this most violent crime, domestic homicides are the most prevalent type, and most homicides take place at home.

Domestic homicides were half of Queensland homicides and 39% of homicides nationwide from 2010-2012.
