Students currently enrolled in an LLB or JD university law program in Australia were invited to enter the 2025 Law and Religion Essay Competition.
The University of Southern Queensland School of Law and Justice invited submissions for the 2025 Law and Religion Essay Competition. All entries were evaluated by a panel comprising two UniSQ academics and one external expert using standardised assessment criteria.
Thank you to everyone who entered the competition. The panel were impressed with the quality of submissions that were received.
Essay Competition winners
- 1st place ($500) – Jacob Carson (University of Newcastle)
- 2nd place ($250) – Jashan Singh (QUT)
- 3rd place ($100) – Ruairi Grant (QUT)
The panel congratulates all three winners for their outstanding submissions.
Prizewinners will also receive an offer to publish their essays with the Australian Journal of Law and Religion (AJLR). AJLR is co-edited by Dr Alex Deagon (Associate Professor in the QUT School of Law).
