Surprising ways volunteers can help your organisation thrive in 2020 and beyond
2020 has encouraged many people to be better neighbours and signalled a new era of volunteer fundraisers, digital volunteerism and activism. Does this means that the way in which people volunteer is changing and why might volunteerism be a critical strategy for organisations wishing to survive the pandemic?
Michelle Stafford from Volunteering Queensland has a wide-ranging career spanning the community, youth, hospitality, sport and recreation and training sectors. At Volunteering Queensland she manages the training, both accredited and non-accredited, and supports the important work of engagement with volunteer involving organisations and volunteers as the Sector Development Manager. Michelle treasures the learning and knowledge she gets each and every time she works with a volunteer-involving organisation and knows that sharing her knowledge is only half of the benefits of training as she develops a stronger, richer view of the sector she represents.
This month Dr Ruth Knight will be discussing with Michelle:
- How has volunteering changed during COVID-19, and is it still an important strategy for organisations
- How has COVID-19 changed the way organisations engage and support volunteers
- How have volunteering programs been really creative and innovative
- Should organisations measure and report on the outcomes of their volunteer program
- What should volunteer coordinators be doing when their organisation is going through change
- What funding, resources and support is there for volunteer coordinators
There is no cost to attend, just grab a cuppa and join the conversation, ask your questions and learn about some great research.
