Course: Bachelor of Design (Architectural Studies)
Year of progress in course: Final year
Dream job: Travelling the world, working somewhere between the lines of psychology and architectural design.
What’s the one thing that sets you apart from other students: Continually seek ways to subtly stand out from the crowd. If my attempts do not work however, my bright red hair will usually do the job.
Which TV character best matches your personality: ‘Emma’ from Glee. If nothing else, she has an amazing hairstyle.
Your favourite three books: “Fight Club” by Chuck Palahniuk, “High Fidelity” by Nick Hornby and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky.
Your favourite three movies: 500 Days of Summer, The Breakfast Club and Into the Wild.
Describe your music tastes: Highly dependent on the ‘moment’, my iPod has everything from John Mayer to Death Cab for Cutie, or from The Killers to The Cure.
What do you do in your free time: Drawing, blogging, Irish dancing and then eventually, working up the courage to learn how to drive.
You can invite five people (dead, alive or fictional) to dinner – who would they be: Ben Gibbard (to play the music), Barney Stinson (to tell stories), Zaha Hadid (to design the table setting), Oscar Wilde (for some inspiring conversations), and Michael Cera (to fill the awkward moments).
What makes you happy: The simple little things – like the feeling when you wake up on the first day of holidays, or when public transport is late so you don’t miss it.
If you could choose one super power – what would it be: ‘Super-intelligence’: being so smart and have so much knowledge you already know everything (like build a house, or fix a computer or drive a car).
What is your favourite place on earth: Galway, Ireland. A home away from home.
What would be your last meal: A really, really good home-made pizza.
What do you want to be when you grow up: Too many things! A designer, an educator, a world-traveller…
If my mates could sum me up in three words – they would be: Intuitive, ambitious and optimistic.
What is your most treasured possession: My silver claddagh ring. I bought it on my first solo trip overseas to Ireland, in a little shop near where my parents grew up. I’ve worn it every day since.
