Age:  18

Course: Mass Communication; Journalism & Public Relations

Year of progress in course: First year of this course. I also did Interior Design.

Dream job: Ultimately I want to own a gallery/bookshop/café. My sister and I are aspiring artists and so if I can use my degree to create a Melbourne-esque gallery in Brisbane in which I would promote emerging young artists in Queensland, I would be thoroughly satisfied!

What’s the one thing that sets you apart from other students?  I have an abnormally large smile; so large in fact that it makes dogs pee upon me expressing my happiness. Don’t laugh – this happens regularly. I like to think I’m pretty ‘set apart’ from other students, like anyone does, but then, what defines a normal student?

Which TV character best matches your personality:  I have been told I am quite similar to Asha Keddie’s character, Nina Proudman, on the Australian show Offspring; prone to panic attacks and generally driven to be a peacemaker with a peculiar inner monologue. The love of owls, scarves and stationery adds to the list.

Your favourite three books: If I had a favourite three books I wouldn’t have a mini library spilling over my floor. I find I simply cannot answer with only three books so I will name the series and authors so you are compelled to go out and read them all! The Trinity Trilogy – Fiona McIntosh (and all of her other trilogies), Obernewtyn Chronicles – Isobelle Carmody (and anything else by her), On the Jelicho Road – Melina Marchetta, The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater and The Hobit – J.R Tolkein… And that should get you started.

Your favourite three movies: Again – impossible to answer with a short response so how about top five? I am Sam, Amazing Grace, Lord of The Rings, Lion King and Fight Club.

Describe your music tastes: Anything from country to Rock and Roll. I was brought up in the wrong era. Roy Orbson, Cold Chisel, John Farnham, B52s – you name it. But then Alternative and Folk music will have to be my favourite all-rounder; Bon Iver, Regina Spektor, Kate Miller-Keidke, Tegan and Sarah, Amos Lee… yea.. The list goes on.

What do you do in your free time: Draw, read, sing, eat, talk and sleep? (Repeat x 10)

You can invite five people (dead, alive or fictional) to dinner – who would they be: Torkyn Gynt (Trinity Trilogy), Albert Einstein, Johnny Depp, Gandalf the Grey (Lord of the Rings) and Tim Minchin. I’m thinking that would be an interesting conversation.

What makes you happy: Laughing, smiling, my friends, family, dogs, the sun, clouds, flowers, the wind, the moon, drawing, reading, writing, music, purpose, quotes and jewellery.

If you could choose one super power – what would it be: Invisibility.

What is your favourite place on earth: In a hug, in my bed or in a park/forest. All are equal.

What would be your last meal: My mum’s lasagne with gelato for dessert.

What do you want to be when you grow up: Still smiling.

If your mates could sum you up in three words – they would be: Crazy, loyal, creative

What is your most treasured possession: A necklace with a gold cross and ankh on it and a ring with my favourite quote engraved on it.

Blogs you follow: I am a part of a blog called The Wedding Playbook and of course I can’t resist a good Jenna Marbles vlog.
