Living in Brisbane

5 Must-Do’s for this summer

Hi everyone, this is Nicole and I am back for my blog now! I am now creating a check-list for you to fill your summer vacation with tons of fun. This checklist is super user-friendly because you only need to find out what you love, and then check out the corresponding activity! Let’s begin now!

1. Nature-lover

Do you feel exciting about regal snowcapped mountain ranges and transparent aquamarine ocean waters? If you do, I recommend North Stradbroke Island to you. Stradbroke Island is the world’s largest sand island and we call it Straddie for short 🙂 It offers you activities from exciting bush walks to stunning fresh-water lakes visit, and from beautiful beaches and uncrowded surfing at Point Lookout. The landscape you will be visiting here suits a variety of tastes and it is definitely the perfect antidote to city life!

2. Sport-lover

If you love sports as much as an Australian does, Suncorp Stadium is worth visiting. It is only minutes from the city center in Milton and holds some of the world’s best games in Rugby League, Rugby Union, and Soccer. Book yourself a ticket this summer and cheer for the love for sports with people around you!

3. Food-lover

Eat street is the heaven for foodies. Come to Northshore Hamilton via CityCat and prepare yourself with plenty of cash. It is highly like that you will be attracted by delicious food as soon as you arrived!  What I usually do is to start with snacks like sweet potato fries and then just wander around and spot lots of yummy food on my way. Last but not least, remember to finish your foodie tour with a traditional Greek honey puff topped with ice cream!

4. Art-lover

Are you a fan of art and culture? Come to Queensland Museum and find out what it can offer you! It not only has exhibitions that connect visitors to Queensland culture and history, but it also offers exhibitions from other parts of Australia and even around the world. There is always something new to see at the Queensland Museum. Next time when you come to Southbank, don’t forget to visit the museum as well!

5. Adventure-lover

Are you looking for an adventure to try here in Brisbane? Come to climb the story bridge! Imagine you can see Brisbane’s river and surrounding hills and mountains (Mt Coot-tha, Glasshouse Mountains, Brisbane River, Lamington National Park ) at its biggest icon! Having some photos taken at 80 meters above the sea level is also awesome!

If some of these activities sound like your cup of tea, go for it this summer!  I wish you all an enjoyable summer vacation and see you in my next blog!
