Are you a post-confirmation PhD student who is hoping to develop an academic career? Apply to attend the nationally award-winning program Teaching Advantage by Friday 27 April.
Post-confirmation PhD students are invited to apply for Teaching Advantage. This program builds skills in teaching, unit coordination, and forging an academic career through a series of interactive workshops. This program is designed to fill the teaching experience gap between part-time tutoring while undertaking a PhD and completing academic development programs once you secure your first lecturing role. The program extends other sessional academic workshops at QUT by enhancing skills in teaching, coordinating units, and career development, and is designed to complement the Sessional Career Advancement Development (SCAD) program.
“Teaching Advantage is exactly the program that doctoral students need to prepare them for their first academic positions.” Suzi Derbyshire, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching)
“I firmly believe that my participation in the Teaching Advantage program was one of the primary reasons why I was awarded my job.” Teaching Advantage Participant, 2011 (now a Senior Lecturer)
