Here are some must-attend events coming up, plus new opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs:

Do You Have An Idea Worth Spreading? TEDxQUT is Seeking Ideas & Speakers! | Apply by April 15 | TEDxQUT is happening September 15, with ticket applications open mid-April. If you have an original & innovative idea you’re passionate about sharing & presenting, submit an application to be considered! Speaking experience is not mandatory. What they’re looking for is: innovation (novel ideas); passion & credibility; diversity; & commitment (to rehearsal & coaching).

Innovative Solutions Sought to Optimise Medication Use in ED: $250K for Feasibility & $500K for Proof of Concept | Applications Due May 29 | Info Session April 18 |  Advance Queensland is seeking “innovative solutions to optimise medication use in emergency departments by accelerating the uptake of new health & medical knowledge into sustained changes in clinical practice”, with funding to help develop & test select concepts. Learn a Developmental Pathway to Become a GradPreneur | April 18 from 5pm | Register | There’s excitement about startups but also an increasing impetus for students to become more entrepreneurial, to be more effective in a dynamic world & better prepared to take advantage of opportunities post-graduation. This QUT Enterprise workshop, presented by Dr Colin Jones, will smash myths & offer a developmental pathway for all students towards becoming a GradPreneur.

Lessons in Startup Community Building from the USA (Boulder, Denver & Silicon Valley) | April 19 from 5:30PM Register | Hear from a panel of Community Managers back in Australia from the Startup Catalyst mission to the USA. They’ll share insights from an intensive week in thriving startup ecosystems, visiting accelerators, investors, workshops & more, plus tips for going global & US entry.

Digging Data | April 24 from 5:30-8pm | Register | If you’d like to learn how to work (better) with data to gain insights, see opportunities & innovate, this event is for you. Welcoming all skill levels, from beginners onwards, including early career researchers interested in health and innovation from a diversity of disciplines.
