Overdues, fees and sanctions

If you have library items which are more than 28 days overdue an academic sanction will be applied to your student record. This will prevent you from receiving examination results, graduating and obtaining academic transcripts.

To have the sanction removed, you must return the items or pay the replacement costs in full. Failure to do so may lead to you receiving a QUT invoice for the items and possible debt recovery action.

Check your My Library Profile on the QUT Library website.

HOW TO PAY: Replacement Costs can be paid online at any time by credit card via QUTPay, or in person. Enquire at any QUT branch library.

QUT Library is committed to ensuring equitable access to resources and we ask you to return or renew your library items by their due date.

Full details are available at www.library.qut.edu.au/services/borrowing/#penalties.

If you have any questions, please speak to library staff at your branch library or online via Ask-a-Librarian.

Submitting assignments via Assignment Minder

At Caboolture Campus Assignment Minder is located in the library at the Learning and Research Desk.

During semester at Caboolture Assignment Minder opening hours are 8am – 6.45pm Monday to Friday  &  9am – 3.45pm Saturdays.

For the printing of Assignment Minder cover sheets, you can access your personalised Assignment Minder via QUT Virtual or Blackboard. You are able to submit your assignments at any campus as we have couriers collecting from & delivering to us 3 times@week.

You are however only able to collect marked assignments from your home campus, and for this you need to present your student card. If you are not able to collect an assignment in person, you may nominate another person via the proxy form available on your Assignment Minder. They will need your student number to do so, and we can check for the proxy form at our end.

Remember to attach your Assignment Minder cover sheet for the assessment to the front of your wallet folder. An Assignment Minder cover sheet is always required for submission to be successful. For some assignments you may also be required to attach a faculty cover sheet to the front of your actual assignment…check the requirements of your assessment for further clarification on faculty cover sheets.

Happy submitting, hope this helps!

Placing a hold or intercampus request

As a Caboolture based student or staff member your access to print resources is not limited to the items held in the library here in B Block.

By placing an intercampus or Library Store request you can easily access many of the resources held in the Kelvin Grove, Gardens Point and Law libraries as well as from the Library Store … that’s almost half a million items. You can also request journal articles, just complete an Intercampus copy request form.To request a book or DVD from another branch simply follow the Placing a hold instructions, or ask at the Learning and Research Desk if you are not sure.

Textbooks are in high demand and often on loan, but remember that you can also place a hold on books or DVD’s that are already on loan. It is worthwhile.….a hold request will shorten the loan time for the person who has the book on loan and disallows any renewal request for the book. Also, a “Recall” email is generated to inform the person that there is an earlier due date for the book or DVD. An added incentive to ensure  the shared access to books and DVD’s that are in demand, is that they will incur 40 penalty points per day if the book or DVD becomes overdue after being recalled.

The prescribed texts for the Caboolture Campus based units are available from the Course Reserve collection for a 2 hour loan in the Library….ask for these at the Learning and Research Desk.

Requested books are couriered to the Caboolture Library for pick-up and you will receive an email notifying you when your book/s are available. Any requested journal articles will actually be emailed directly to you! Both processes usually take about a day or two. Most books and DVD’s that have been “available” when requested will arrive the next business day.

Staff at the Learning and Research Desk can assist with any or all stages of your resource hunting quests… Ask a Librarian!
