“The Research Bazaar is a worldwide skill and community-building festival promoting the essential digital skills researchers need to perform modern research…The event aims to equip researchers from all career stages and disciplines with the digital skills and tools required to do their research better, faster, and smarter.” Research Bazaar Queensland (resbaz.github.io)
ResBaz runs for three days from 21 -23 November. There will be workshops on using R and Python; sessions that demystify AI for researchers, present the science of research commercialisation, introduce computational thinking, discuss FAIR and CARE data principles for responsible and ethical research, address reproducible research… and that is just on Day 1. There will be many guest speakers who have walked the walk and talked the talk and are still making waves in their respective professions.
ResBaz Brisbane is hosted by Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) and the University of Queensland, along with QUT and Griffith University. The location for the event this year, is at The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus.
If you are interested in volunteering to help run the event (e.g. assist in setting up, serve on the registration desk, help out in a workshop, etc.) and have not already completed the online form, please indicate your interest via the Volunteer form.
The cost for attendance is $40*, which includes all workshops, talks, social activities (including prizes for some lucky attendees!), and food over the three days. Places are limited but you can still register here.
* Concerned about costs? Attendees who may need assistance with fares, accommodation, accessibility or childcare costs can apply for financial assistance by contacting email@example.com.
