Pride events this month at QUT Library and QUT

QUT Library fully supports our students and staff who identify as LGBTIQA+.

This Pride month, the Library, in conjunction with QUT Equity and QUT Faculty of Health, is hosting an author event with Kevin Yow Yeh and author Ellen van Neerven.

Pride 2021 with advocate and change-maker Katherine Wolfgramme

Join us for Pride 2021 as we welcome Katherine Wolfgramme a community leader who has been advocating for positive change for trans communities across Australasia for over 20 years.
Katherine’s achievements are many and vast, and including changing Fijian law in 1997 when she became the first transgender woman to legally obtain a female name; and leading the charge to prevent a transphobic slur being used in businesses across Australia. Katherine is a Gender Diversity Consultant and was formerly the official Ambassador of The Gender Centre, former Board Associate of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, former Public Officer of Wear It Purple and Producer of Sydney Transgender Day of Remembrance. Katherine will be sharing her story, and her most recent achievements.

Outside of QUT,  QPSN are hosting Pride Skate. Registrations not necessary – just save the date: 4:30-6:30pm, Sunday 26 September. Albany Creek Skateaway, 700 Albany Creek Road, Albany Creek to skate away the afternoon under disco lights, with a great soundtrack! Allies, friends and families welcome.
