Children’s Book Week

2021 CBCA Book of the Year Awards

The Children’s Book Council of Australia has announced its 75th Book of the Year Awards. Congratulations to all the Winners…  Authors, Illustrators and Publishers!

This year the theme for the CBCA Book Week is OLD WORLDS, NEW WORLDS, OTHER WORLDS. Shaun Tan’s artwork as seen on the official poster here invokes flight as a symbol of movement between our inner and outer worlds. The newly refurbished QUT Library Curriculum Collection also has the inspiring quote on one of our entrance walls.

A list of all winners including honours books can be found here.  You can watch the special awards announcement on the CBCA YouTube channel.  Further information about Book of the Year including all notable and shortlisted books can be found on the CBCA website.

The Library has a lovely display of the 2021 CBCA books. All titles are available for loan and can be found in the Curriculum Collection on level 4 of R Block, Kelvin Grove Library.

We also have a Children’s Literature Library Subject Guide where you can read more about the books and follow the links to QUT Library’s online and print copies.

Enjoy Children’s Book Week and happy reading!
