The year is almost done and it has been a year like no other for most of us. This season is also a time when many of us take a break away from our desks and look forward to a bit of rest and relaxation. That doesn’t necessarily mean doing nothing (though there’s nothing wrong with that, if that’s your choice) so here are a few resources to help you explore your local areas.
- Have a Brisbetter day out – Brisbane City Council have created a website to help you plan your next adventure in and around Brisbane.
- 49 Things to do in Brisbane City – For those of you not wanting to venture too far afield, Visit Brisbane has a list of things to do in Brisbane City. Things like, eating, shopping, walking, museums, gardens, yoga plus a whole lot more.
- Destination Gold Coast – This site has things to see and do in and around the Gold Coast area including the theme parks, hinterland, beaches and loads more.
- 20 (almost) free things to do on the Sunshine Coast – In truth, some of the things are free like going to the beach or mountain climbing or walking along the coast line, but it also recommends eating cheese at the Maleny Cheese Factory (yum!) – Samples are free and you can buy if anything really takes your fancy.
If you prefer to stay home, avoid the (socially distanced) crowds and while away the hours with a good book (print, ebook, audiobook)? Why not check out the Library’s collection today?
A reminder that the QUT Libraries will be closed from the 24th December to the 3rd January.
Have a great summer break and see you in 2021!
