Register now
Registrations are open now for this in-person event at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) at Gardens Point campus. For conference fees and more information, visit the ICEL5 website.
Call for Abstracts
The call to submit abstracts for oral, poster, workshop, and panel presentations for the 2026 international conference is now open.
ICEL5 is an interdisciplinary conference, and we welcome abstracts that highlight legal, ethical, clinical, health policy, sociological, and other aspects of assisted dying internationally and within specific jurisdictions. We use ‘assisted dying’ as an umbrella term and recognise that countries use different terminology such as voluntary assisted dying, medical assistance in dying, assisted suicide and euthanasia.
We welcome abstracts that situate assisted dying in its broader end-of-life and health-care contexts, including research which sits at the intersection between assisted dying and other relevant issues, such as advance care planning, other forms of hastened death, and organ donation.
The call for abstracts closes on Sunday 31 August 2025.
