QUT has an expectation that applicants to the university will make full declaration of their current onshore studies at the time of lodgement of their application to QUT. This should include future intended studies that may be relevant to or is associated with their current student visa. Applicants who have not completed 6 months of their principal course onshore must provide a Letter of Release.

This is the final semester for students wishing to apply for the 1 year Master of Education ED79. The new course commencing Semester 1 2015 will be 1.5 years in length.

Applicants for the Master of Education EU70 (2015) need to meet one of the following entry requirements. Advanced standing is also available for eligible students as shown below.

Entry requirements:

  • A completed recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in Education

OR

  • A completed recognised 4 year Bachelor degree with a 1 year research project component in any field or an Australian Honours degree in any field

OR

  • A completed recognised Postgraduate degree (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters (or higher)) in any field

OR

  • A completed recognised Bachelor degree in any field and 5 years related professional work experience. Students applying on the basis of work experience will need to include a detailed CV

Advanced Standing
Applicants who have a completed:

  • recognised 4 year Bachelor degree with a 1 year research project component or an Australian Honours degree in the field of Education; or
  • a completed recognised Postgraduate degree (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters or higher) in the field of Education

are be eligible for 48 credit points (1 semester) of Advanced Standing.

The next EAP Plus Entry test will be held at the College on Wednesday 2 July. Students must register for this test by 25 June, 2014. The test is free, held on campus and is designed for students to gain entry into the EAP Plus program without the need for an IELTS test.

The Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment has created a fact sheet called ‘Providing quality education and training and protecting the rights of international students’ providing international students with an overview of what they should expect, as well as their rights, when pursuing international education in Australia. Please forward this to any applicants you may be in contact with.

Please note the information on transfer of students between providers. Students must meet certain conditions before they can enrol with another education provider including completion of at least 6 months of their principal course with their original education provider.

The final submission date for applications for Semester 2 coursework degree programs (except QUT Graduate School of Business programs, QUT GSB) is Monday, 16 June for offshore applicants and Monday, 7 July for onshore applicants. The acceptance closing date for semester two degree programs (except QUT GSB) is Monday, 7 July for offshore applicants and Monday, 14 July for onshore applicants.

Please note that QUT has introduced new early closing dates, which will apply in countries where there are known visa processing delays. For the semester two intake, these early closing dates will apply to applicants from India. Applications for this group must be received 6 weeks prior to classes (9 June). Applicants from India must accept their offer by Monday, 23 June, four weeks prior to classes.

We strongly recommend that applications be submitted as soon as possible, and prior to all application closing dates to avoid disappointment. Applications should be emailed to qut.intadmission@qut.edu.au and include the words “Sem 2 2014” in the subject line. Applications should be fully completed and include all documentation to avoid delays.

Where an offer for Semester 2 cannot be made, we will automatically consider the application for the next available semester.
