QUT is still 100% open for business but has now moved online for Semester 2, 2020 to be more accessible to students. Online is a good option for students to commence their studies with QUT during the COVID-19 pandemic without delaying their career plans.

For international students who are currently outside Australia, we recommend they initially study online with QUT and then come to Brisbane to study on campus, after the Australian border is reopened.

We understand you are dealing with a large volume of enquires from students regarding Semester 2, 2020. We have developed a FAQ document that will assist you as you counsel students, which covers the following key question:

  • Online study and learning support
  • Applications
  • Enrolment and fees
  • Overseas Student Health Cover
  • Student Support Services

Real-world learning never stops at QUT. Our commitment to all students is to support and assist them with their online learning. Please encourage your students to start with us online for Semester 2, 2020. Please download the FAQ documents and share it with your students.

Thank you for your ongoing support of QUT and please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

FAQ for QUT International Students Sem 2, 2020 – Part 2

QUT has recently completed a review of undergraduate academic entry requirements for Vietnamese secondary schools graduates based on the performance of this cohort at QUT. We are pleased to let you know the important changes outlined below, effective immediately:

  1.  Adjustment to Academic Entry Requirements for Students from Vietnam Gifted and Specialised Schools
    QUT has adjusted academic entry requirements for secondary school graduates from Vietnamese gifted and specialised schools. For example, the new overall grade average requirement for Bachelor of Business is 7.5 (on a 10-point scale) from all Year 12 subjects instead of 8.0. The academic requirement for our faculty merit scholarships remains unchanged. Please refer to QUT website for the updated entry requirements on specific QUT courses.
  2. Acceptance of Students from Vietnam Regular Schools for Direct Entry into QUTQUT can now accept Vietnamese secondary school graduates holding the Bang Tot Nghiep Trung Hoc Pho Tong (Upper Secondary Education Graduation Diploma)/ Secondary School Leaving Examination (SSLE) from Vietnamese regular secondary schools for direct entry into QUT undergraduate degrees. Graduates from the regular schools will be subject to the same minimum academic entry requirements for QUT courses and our faculty merit scholarships as graduates from gifted and specialised schools.

Applicants holding this qualification will still be required to meet the following conditions:

  • Satisfy QUT’s English language proficiency requirements.
  • Satisfy pre-requisite subject requirements except English by achieving a pass grade in the relevant subject(s) in the Bang Tot Nghiep Trung Hoc Pho Tong / Secondary School Leaving (SSLE) examinations.

For further information please check our course entry requirements on the QUT website.

We trust that you would find these changes positive and we thank you for your ongoing support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant QUT regional team below.

QUT issues Conditional Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for applicants commencing at QUT in June or July, who:

  1. Have excellent results to-date;
  2. Have met the requirements for their English language program, and;
  3. Will receive their final academic transcript (and completion certification, if applicable) close to the semester commencement (before start of classes).
    This will allow students to apply for the visa whilst their results are finalised.

To apply for the conditional eCOE, please provide the following information to International Admissions:

  • Fully completed ‘Application for a Conditional CoE’ form;
  • Up-to-date academic transcripts;
  • English test results to meet the requirement;
  • Documentation to satisfy any other requirement specified on the offer letter.
    QUT will review the request and email to confirm if a conditional eCOE is approved, and request to proceed with the acceptance payment and acceptance form.

This arrangement is subject to review dependant on individual student circumstances.

It is important to note that although students have received a conditional CoE, they have not formally met QUT’s entry requirements and will not be able to enrol or access QUT facilities until International Admissions receives the final academic documents.

Your agency will need to have a process in place to follow up with students to ensure the final academic documents are sent to QUT as per the agreed date.

If the entry requirements are not met, the QUT offer will be withdrawn, and the applicant’s CoE will be cancelled.

This is to remind you that our academic entry requirements for our Foundation programs have changed.
