Apply now to commence the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (PLT) on 26 July or 16 August 2021.
You can carry up to two electives into PLT with permission from the Legal Practitioners Admission Board.
If you are in your final semester of your Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and have only 2 electives to complete in your degree, you can apply to commence PLT on 26 July or 16 August 2021. Please note that the 5-day compulsory attendance school will be a virtual attendance school. You will not need to attend on campus to participate in the attendance school.
The Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (PLT) is structured into 3 components:
The skill component is a 6-week skills block that will be mostly online and will include a 5-day virtual attendance school.
The practice areas component is 13 weeks full-time (or 26 weeks part-time) training session. You can choose either full-time or part-time online. This is where you gain practical know-how in civil litigation, property, and commercial law practice plus two elective practice areas.
The placement component is a 4-week face to face placement in a law firm. Even though you complete the entire PLT online, you will be provided with the opportunity to conduct the placement in a law office in Australia. We will find this placement for you.
