His Excellency, Jeong-sik Kang, Ambassador of Korea to Australia visited QUT on Wednesday, 10 March 2021 as part of his official visit to Queensland. The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Yoon Sun Huh as well as:

The Ambassador met with QUT’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (International), Professor Scott Sheppard, who was accompanied by:
Professor Ian Mackinnon, Queensland’s Ambassador for Hydrogen and Professor, School of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences
Mr Paul Bolt, Executive Director, QUT International
Ms Annie Chan, Regional Manager (North Asia), QUT International
QUT staff and the Ambassador discussed different aspects of QUT, including green hydrogen project, learning about QUT’s facilities and what QUT has to offer in the way of current and future collaborations with partners and industry.
The Ambassador got a tour of QUT’s Centre for Robotics (led by Professor Michael Milford, Acting Director, Centre for Robotics and Program Lead (Perception & Localisation), and were able to highlight some of our star alumni including Korean roboticist Inkyu Sa who did his PhD at QUT with Distinguished Professor Peter Corke, Director, Program Lead (Physical Interaction) and Professor of Robotic Vision, and is now doing great thinks at CSIRO’s Data61 Robotics and Autonomous Systems group in Brisbane.
