Business School Course updates

QUT Business School course updates

  • The Master of Business (Accounting) has been discontinued. Any students who have already commenced in this program will continue to complete this major.
  • The Master of Business (Professional Accounting) continues to be available for all students wanting to obtain professional accounting qualifications.
  • The Master of Business/Master of Business double degree has been discontinued. Any students who have already commenced in this program will continue to complete this major.

From Semester 1, 2021 (February), the QUT Business School has introduced a new version of the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Business (Deans Honours) and Bachelor of Business – International degrees in 2021. The redesigned eight core units will expand across all years of the degrees as QUT continues to build business capabilities of our graduates. The core units are framed around structured problem-solving in business covering backgrounds, disruptions, challenges, values, sustainability and resolution.  As students move through the second year, they examine industry, cultural and societal challenges to organisations and in the third year integrate the knowledge and skills learned by working in interdisciplinary teams to recommend solutions to real companies. The update to the core units also gives students the choice of two units from a curated list of topics such as Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Cultural Intelligence or even an internship. This change will not have an impact on the current continuing students.
