QUT Innovation’s in response to COVID-19

The Creative Industries Faculty has assisted in manufacturing thousands of face masks in less than a week using their 3D printer. The masks will be used by health care workers in Queensland to protect themselves when treating a patient with the virus.

QUT Science and Engineering Faculty alumnus, Mark Dutton, has repurposed his Supercars knowledge to designing ventilator systems for patients.

QUT researchers are also assisting in developing a vaccine for the virus by sharing their valuable research. The research explores producing vaccines in bulk at a low cost using agricultural technology.

In positive news, in a time when traditional sports have been cancelled or postponed, esports is flourishing. QUT is proud to be home to Australia’s first esports university gaming arena and esports elite athlete scholarships.

QUT is proud of our community’s efforts to contribute to the global fight against COVID-19. We are #InThisTogether.
