New and continuing International Education students had the opportunity to meet faculty staff, peers, and some furry (and not-so-furry!) Australian animals at a welcome event on 7 March. Professor Carol Nicoll (Executive Dean, Faculty of Education) officially welcomed students and introduced key faculty staff members, followed by a fun activity where students and staff mingled and learnt more about each other. The real excitement began when students had a unique opportunity to get up-close with Australian animals, including a turtle, crocodile, possum, snakes, birds and lizards. While students learnt more about our local wildlife, they also had the opportunity to chat with their peers and share their experiences of living and studying at QUT, and seek advice and support from faculty staff.
