QUT partners with Japan’s elite National Institute of Technology

QUT is the first overseas university in the world to establish an articulation agreement with National Institute of Technology, Akashi College (Akashi) in Japan.

There are 55 National Institute of Technology across Japan, also known as KOSEN.

As a flagship higher education entity leading the Japan’s industry strength in engineering, robotics and innovation, KOSENs provide high level technology education and drive research with 50,000 students and 6,000 academic/administrative staff.

Located in Kansai region, Akashi is one of the most advanced KOSENs in Japan that is leading globalisation of all national KOSENs.

The formal signing of the agreement was held on March 10 at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo.

QUT and Akashi share common strengths of high graduate employability, strong research, student-employer connections, alumni outcomes, and an outstanding reputation among industries.
