Course updates Science & Engineering

New courses offer more flexibility

International students now have the opportunity to choose between two new pathway programs at QUT. The Diploma of Engineering (EN02) and the Graduate Certificate in Communication for Information Technology (IN17). This makes their transition to further studies easier.

The Diploma of Engineering commences in October 2015 and is a two semester program, providing a direct pathway into the second year of QUT’s industry-renowned Bachelor of Engineering. The Bachelors degree offers students maximum flexibility across all engineering majors.

QUT’s Bachelor of Engineering offers students strong industry connections with world-class corporations, work integrated learning, real-world practical projects, and the opportunity to learn from leaders in the industry.

The new Graduate Certificate in Communication for IT is a one-semester program offering a unique pathway for academically-qualified IT graduates who do not meet the English language requirements for direct entry into the Master of IT. Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive one semester of advanced standing (credit) into the new Master of Information Technology, offering students an attractive choice of industry-focused majors.

QUT IT students gain specialist knowledge and industry-focused skills to prepare them for their future career. Students will enjoy real-world learning opportunities, deal with research inspired problems and work on industry-focused projects.

Another study option for international students to further enhance their qualification and career potential is to undertake a double masters. Students can now accelerate their study career by combining the Master of Project Management with either the Master of Engineering Management or the Master of Engineering in two years of study.

Engineering graduates are also offered the option to pursue a combined Master of Engineering and Master of Engineering Management, for completion in two years. In response to industry demands, this double degree provides students with a desirable dual qualification across both technical and managerial-oriented dimensions of engineering.

These courses are available to students in Semester 2, 2015.
