Over 4000 new students were welcomed to QUT during our mid-year Orientation Week, held from July 14-18.
More than half of the students commencing in Semester 2 were international students, and QUT added an ‘Australiana’ flavour, including bringing native animals on campus at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove.
Here are more photos from Orientation Week (Gardens Point campus):
All international students had a specific orientation program to attend based on the type of student they were, and registered for their specific orientation program on the Orientation Planner. This tailored program allows international students to better acclimatise to life in a new country.
Students also attended events such as:
- New to Brisbane session
- Academic Writing @ Uni
- QUT Connect sessions: a VIP introduction to student life at QUT, hosted by current students.
- Official Welcome from 4pm, Kidney Lawn, Gardens Point campus.
Orientation Week is held at the start of each semester at both Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campus.
