My QUT- Australia Awards Fellowship experience has opened a floodgate of opportunities for me to empower others in the Philippine education sector.
I was given the privilege to participate in the framing of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Competencies for Teachers by the Commission on Higher Education. It led to (1) designing a model syllabus in Technology for Teaching and Learning 1, (2) publising a book, and (3) organizing capacity-building programs for teachers.
I managed free training sessions for Centres of Excellence in Visayas and Mindanao so that they too can cascade the idea of giving – for others to adjust and embrace appropriate and effective technology integration in their instructional delivery. The drive to give continues because QUT and Australia Awards have generously given me the affordances of the Fellowship.
