An Educational Outbreak In Time For COVID Outbreak

By Enerio Ebisa

In 2015, I took part in the Strengthening Leadership and Teaching Excellence Skills program of Metrobank and QUT (Queensland University of Technology). I was a teacher then, but the experience gave me the leg up to become a school head.

My leadership impact broadened through the years. I have influenced not only fellow school heads in Iligan City but the whole Region 10 through series of leadership trainings. I thought my impact would only be up to the region, until in 2018 I was called to craft the leadership standards for school heads nationwide.

Now in 2020, the Department of Education has released the National Adoption and Implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads. These standards enable school heads to have a common language on high impact leadership in the Philippines especially in the COVID-19 situation. They are guided by what they are expected to know, understand and do to succeed in their work.
