Bossy… Emotional… Too nice!

The concept for this year’s Women on the Move event was designed by Emily Trail.

Our 2017 Women on the Move event was held on August 1st with around 90 women from a range of business, government and university environments. 

We tackled the complex theme of Emotional Resilience and Positive Leadership highlighting the dilemma of women leaders who may be seen as ’too bossy, too emotional or too nice!!

Innovative partnership with Arrow Energy

One of the great initiatives that the GSB team has been able to deliver in recent times was the Arrow Indigenous Leadership Program. QUT GSB partnered with Arrow Energy to deliver a customised leadership development initiatives to a group of Indigenous leaders from across all parts of Arrow’s operations.

The program combined intensive workshops, group projects, mentoring and an on-country cultural heritage tour hosted by traditional owners in Dalby. Indigenous leaders from across Queensland, including many from the Brisbane Council of Elders, participated as guest speakers and shared their wisdom and stories as resilient leaders of people. It was a great way of demonstrating the power of partnerships and alliances in driving positive change.

In July 2016, QUT launched the Executive Graduate Certificate in Business (Leadership through coaching and Mentoring) designed for leaders inspired to coach and coaches inspired to lead. In particular, this program is for leaders who want to use coaching and mentoring to implement positive change in their organisation.
