In 2019, I completed a semester of study at Texas A&M University. This opportunity provided me with the experience to grow as a person, experience a new culture, and meet not only a large number of Americans but also people from all over the world.
During my time there I was heavily involved in a university organization named the International Business Association. Through this organisation, I met other exchange students and Americans that were interested in learning about other cultures and global issues. This organization and experience helped me broaden my global perspective and further realize there is much more outside of my home country Australia.
I now know people from all corners of the globe and will have valuable contacts if I ever end up doing something or travel abroad. I also grew as a person while I was away from my family for the first time ever. I was forced to push my boundaries and learn to live on my own which I think has helped me mature a huge amount.
This study semester was a once in a lifetime experience and I feel I have become a more well-rounded and aware person because of it.
The experiences and people I met while in Texas are some of the best I have ever had, and I can’t wait to go back and visit soon.
