{"id":6479,"date":"2025-04-10T14:49:13","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T04:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/?p=6479"},"modified":"2025-04-10T14:49:13","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T04:49:13","slug":"qut-open-access-journals-do-well-in-the-2024-scimago-journal-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2025\/04\/10\/qut-open-access-journals-do-well-in-the-2024-scimago-journal-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"QUT open access journals do well in the 2024 SCImago Journal Rankings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two of QUT\u2019s open access journals are in the <strong>top five<\/strong> Law journals published in Australia: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimejusticejournal.com\/\"><em>International Journal for Crime Justice and Social Democracy<\/em><\/a> (School of Justice) and <a href=\"https:\/\/lthj.qut.edu.au\/\"><em>Law, Technology and Humans<\/em><\/a> (School of Law)<\/p>\n<p>There are only 17 Australian Law journals ranked in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of Australian open access publications \u2013 the <em>International Journal of Crime, Justice and Social Democracy<\/em> ranks <strong>1<sup>s<\/sup><\/strong><sup>t<\/sup> and <em>Law, Technology and Humans<\/em> ranks <strong>3<sup>rd\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Internationally, <em>International Journal of Crime, Justice and Social Democracy<\/em> is in the top 50 open access Law journals.<\/p>\n<p>Both these QUT-supported journals have no article processing charges (APCs), are licenced using Creative Commons, indexed widely in legal databases (including AustLII) and are included in the only global index of OA journals \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/doaj.org\/\">DOAJ<\/a>.
