QUT Centre for Justice member, Associate Professor Phoebe Hart<\/strong> is a writer, director and producer of documentaries, factual content and children’s television.\u00a0 \u00a0She is known particularly for her autobiographical road trip movie, Orchids: My Intersex Adventure<\/a><\/em>. Hart completed her film studies at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 1995.\u00a0\u00a0She has worked for\u00a0Network Ten\u00a0and the\u00a0Australian Broadcasting Corporation.<\/p>\n Phoebe has recently published a book titled,\u00a0Crafting Contemporary Documentaries and Docuseries for Global Screens: Docu-mania<\/a> which maps the landscape for and current practices of nonfiction filmmakers post-COVID via interviews and subsequent thematic analysis.<\/p>\n The book includes the voices of many award-winning documentarians, including Rintu Thomas, Kirby Dick, Amy Ziering, Peter Murimi, Sara Dosa, Karina Holden, Alessandro Angulo Brandestini, Jessica Lee, Felicity Morris and others, and offers important directions forward for the craft and the industry.<\/p>\n Phoebe regularly writes for The Conversation<\/strong> and recently published an article titled, “A truly international slate: your guide to the 2024 Oscar nominees for best documentary”<\/a> and “Chemical attraction, a whodunit murder mystery and tensions at the mosque: what we\u2019re streaming this March”\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The book is available to purchase and you can obtain copies at a 30% discount using the code LXFANDF30 when ordering.<\/p>\n Phoebe is a member of QUT Centre for Justice Queer Research Group.<\/a><\/p>\n
