Queensland children who enter the justice system have the highest rate of recidivism in Australia: children under 12 who are imprisoned are almost 100% likely to reoffend within the year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"crm-main-content-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"crm-event-id-1098 crm-block crm-event-info-form-block\">\n<div class=\"event-info\">\n<div class=\"crm-section event_description-section summary\">\n<p>QCOSS is leading the <strong>Raise the Age<\/strong> campaign in Queensland, fighting for funding for social service sector programs and facilities that we know keep children away from the youth justice system. But to succeed, we need police and government on board.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Commissioner George Marchesini\u00a0 agrees that keeping children in detention is not the end solution.
