This year\u2019s theme is\u00a0&#8216;Community over Commercialisation&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>This theme encourages a candid conversation about which approaches to open scholarship prioritize the best interests of the public and the academic community\u2014and which do not.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimejusticejournal.com\/index\">The\u00a0<em>International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy<\/em>\u00a0(IJCJSD)<\/a> is an open access, blind peer reviewed journal that seeks to publish critical research about common challenges confronting criminal justice systems around the world. Authors retain copyright and articles are licenced via Creative Commons to make published articles more readily available and useable. There are no APCs (Article Processing Charges). Authors can submit and publish at no cost.<\/p>\n<p>Importantly, IJCJSD is indexed in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals). A DOAJ Membership is a clear statement of intent and proves a commitment to quality, peer-reviewed open access. DOAJ is co-author to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doaj.org\/bestpractice\">Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (Principles)<\/a>\u00a0and DOAJ members are expected to follow these principles as a condition of membership<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doaj.org\/about\/\">DOAJ<\/a>\u00a0is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to around 19,960 high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals.
