QUT Law and Creative Industries alumni, and QUT Centre for Justice Adjunct Lecturer, Dr Fiona Crawford has written two articles in The Conversation around The Matilda’s and the 2023 Women’s World Cup.<\/p>\n

During the World Cup Dr Crawford published an article titled,\u00a0 “From handing out their own flyers, to sell-out games: how the Matildas won over a nation”.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0 This article went on to become the most popular instagram post in the week it was published, and attracting reads of 12,272 (week 7-13 August 2023).<\/p>\n

Following the completion of the Women’s World Cup Dr Crawford published a further article titled, “Just the beginning:\u00a0 7 ways the Women’s World Cup can move the dial on women’s sport forever.\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

“But, as anyone in and around women\u2019s football knows, the Women\u2019s World Cup needs to be more than a four-week football festival.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It needs to move the dial on the treatment of, and investment in, women\u2019s sport, including with the following big-ticket items.” (Fiona Crawford)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
