QUT Centre for Justice member Associate Professor Angela Higginson<\/a> has been invited to join the Global SDG Synthesis Coalition Peace Pillar Management Group, to provide expertise on evidence synthesis methodologies. The SDG Synthesis Coalition aims to synthesise the evaluation evidence that demonstrates progress towards the UN\u2019s sustainable development goals, and is made up of over 40 UN entities, as well as other national and international organisations.<\/p>\n

The Peace Pillar<\/a> aims to synthesise evaluation evidence on SDG16: \u201cPromote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels\u201d.<\/p>\n

The role of the Peace Pillar Management Group is to set the scope and terms of reference, engage strategic partners, support resource mobilization, ensure timely delivery of the synthesis, and support communication and uptake. The Peace Pillar is co-led by the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), UN Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO), and UNDP. The Peace Pillar aims to have its early results ready for the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July 2024, and its full report in time for the Summit of the Future, to be hosted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2024.<\/p>\n
