This was a moderated discussion between Dr Higginson, the Swedish Minister for Justice, and the winner of the 2023 Stockholm Prize in Criminology.<\/p>\n<p>A big part of the discussion was advising the minister on evidence-based best practice to deal with rising youth violence.\u00a0 \u00a0 Angela advocated against Sweden losing the age of criminal responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>See a link to the presentation <a href=\"https:\/\/criminologysymposium.com\/recorded-sessions.html?fbclid=IwAR2p9sRrNP_2GwH0OGaR05nGqkh4sS0gZIQh4NlrykX0qFYQoat8hu7P6oA\">here (first Opening Presentation)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr Angela Higginson is an Associate Professor in the School of Justice, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, QUT.\u00a0\u00a0She is an ARC Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) fellow for 2018-2022, and her DECRA project examines the correlates and consequences of ethnically-motivated youth hate crime in Australia. Much of Angela&#8217;s work has focused on policing and community processes for crime control, with a particular interest in evaluation through systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
