So what is open access?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Open access (OA) is a set of principles and a range of practices through which research outputs are distributed online, free of cost or other access barriers.\u00a0 Through licensing via an open license (usually a\u00a0<\/em>Creative Commons License<\/em><\/a>), freely available outputs can also be legally shared and reused. Hence, open access is more than just free access.<\/em><\/p>\n

QUT supports the publication of five open access journals<\/a> including the International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, in the School of Justice.\u00a0 Content is published under a\u00a0Creative Commons<\/a>\u00a0Attribution Licence and there are no article processing charges (APCs) to be paid by authors. These journals are published with the support of QUT Library using the\u00a0Open Journals System (OJS)<\/a>\u00a0software.<\/p>\n

This year the theme of Open Access Week is Open for Climate Justice<\/em><\/strong> which seeks to encourage connection and collaboration among the climate movement and the international open community.<\/p>\n

The International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy<\/em><\/strong> has, to-date, published a large number of timely articles and special issues related to green criminology and climate change.<\/p>\n
