She has worked in partnership with First Nations Communities throughout Queensland for many years. Grace&#8217;s research addresses the need for urgent educational reform to support the engagement of young First Nations children at school.<\/p>\n<p>Grace has recently been awarded a grant through <strong>Queensland Youth Justice Commission Community Partnership Innovation Grant<\/strong> for a project that will provide young First Nations people who have been excluded from education, released from youth detention or are at high risk of reoffending with culturally responsive and culturally safe support, education and training opportunities to positively re-engage them with community.\u00a0 \u00a0The Mindle Bygul Aboriginal Corporate will join Grace in this research project.\u00a0 The project will be undertaken in the Moreton Bay community.<\/p>\n<p>This grant was awarded off the back of a <strong>BEST\/QUT C4J seed funding research grant<\/strong> received in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Grace&#8217;s research has also been recognised as part of the <strong>Women in Research Sub-Committee Research Showcase<\/strong>, taking place on Tuesday 8 November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Grace&#8217;s research extends to the global collective as <strong>Editorial Advisory Board member of (In)Justice International<\/strong> in the UK, exposing and publicising injustices committed against Indigenous peoples globally.\u00a0 The next convention will be held in Mikkeli, Finland in 2023 on the theme,\u00a0 &#8220;<span class=\"xcontentpasted0\"><i><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt;font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;color: black;background: white\">(In)Justice in a World of Uncertainty&#8221;, 28-31<\/span><\/i><\/span><span class=\"xcontentpasted1\"><i><sup><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt;font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;color: black;background: white\">st<\/span><\/sup><\/i><\/span><span class=\"xcontentpasted1\"><i><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt;font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;color: black;background: white\">\u00a0March 2023, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences.
