QUT Centre for Justice has released its third Briefing Paper Series<\/strong> around Domestic and Family Violence, to coincide with the conclusion of Queensland Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month 2022.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Centre has strong expertise in this area and is proud of the contribution its members can make to how we think about Domestic and Family Violence and more importantly, how we respond to it. We congratulate the authors below on their contribution and hope you find these papers interesting and helpful.<\/p>\n In their paper, Dr Jess Rodgers, Professor Kerry Carrington, Vanessa Ryan and Regan Carr<\/a> provide an overview of an evaluation of the co-location of a domestic family violence (DFV) specialist embedded in Toowoomba Police Station.\u00a0\u00a0 In their paper the authors consider the viability of replicating and even extended the co-location model across Australia.<\/p>\n Dr Joanne Clarke<\/a> critically reflects on the significant law reforms that have been established to manage parental separation disputes and address the safety concerns that domestic and family violence presents to women and children engaged in the process of Family Dispute Resolution (FDR).\u00a0 Joanne also poses future directions in FDR research.<\/p>\n Dr Gina Masterston, Zoe Rathus, Professor John Flood and Professor Kieran Tranter<\/a> examine the experiences of women who have been \u2018Hagued\u201d –\u00a0 forced through a court-facilitated process enabled by the Hague Convention to return children taken unlawfully across international borders. \u00a0This paper discusses how the convention fails to account for family and domestic violence, and may be weaponised against women fleeing such violence.<\/p>\n The QUT Centre for Justice acknowledges the work of the Briefing Papers Editorial Board \u2013 Deanna Grant-Smith, Laura Vitis, Grace O\u2019Brien and Julie King \u00a0\u2013 who worked tirelessly to bring this series together.<\/p>\n For more information about QUT Centre for Justice visit our website\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n
