{"id":4837,"date":"2022-02-08T10:23:39","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T00:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/?p=4837"},"modified":"2022-02-08T10:23:39","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T00:23:39","slug":"qut-centre-for-justice-research-achievements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2022\/02\/08\/qut-centre-for-justice-research-achievements\/","title":{"rendered":"QUT Centre for Justice &#8211; Research Achievements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-4838\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2022\/02\/Angela-Higginson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2022\/02\/Angela-Higginson.jpg 320w, https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2022\/02\/Angela-Higginson-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2022\/02\/Angela-Higginson-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 175px) 100vw, 175px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A\/Prof Angela Higginson<\/strong> has been funded as part of a collaborative research project with UQ to work on a 12 month project <strong>\u201cEnhancing the Capability of the Global Policing Database (GPD)\u201d.<\/strong> The $150,000 project explores the use of machine-learning approaches to populate the GPD, and is funded jointly by the Australian Institute of Criminology, New Zealand Police Evidence Base Policing Centre, Queensland Police Service, Victoria Police, and South Australia Police.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A\/Professor Michael Flood<\/strong> was successful in gaining an ARC Discovery Grant on <strong>\u201cAnti-women online movements: Pathways and patterns of participation\u201d.<\/strong> The grant will be led by colleagues at Deakin University, and will explore the influences shaping men\u2019s attraction to anti-women online movements and patterns of participation within them.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Michael Flood\u2019s jo<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4643\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2021\/08\/michael-flood.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"139\" height=\"181\" \/><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">urnal article, titled <\/span><strong style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">\u201cIntersectionality and social justice in programs for boys and men\u201d<\/strong><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\"> and co-authored with Amanda Keddie and Shelley Hewson-Munro, was published in <\/span><em style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">NORMA: International Journal for Masculinity Studies<\/em><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">. Dr Flood\u2019s journal article, titled <\/span><strong style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">\u201cDigital Dating Abuse Perpetration and Impact: The Importance of Gender\u201d<\/strong><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\"> and co-authored with Cynthia Brown and Kelsey Hegarty, was published in the <\/span><em style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">Journal of Youth Studies<\/em><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr Flood gave an invited presentation to the Pornography Inquiry of the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on\u00a0Commercial Sexual Exploitation, on January 18.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A\/Prof Angela Higginson has been funded as part of a collaborative research project with UQ to work on a 12 month project \u201cEnhancing the Capability of the Global Policing Database (GPD)\u201d.
