{"id":4830,"date":"2022-01-31T14:40:23","date_gmt":"2022-01-31T04:40:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/?p=4830"},"modified":"2022-01-31T14:58:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T04:58:14","slug":"report-and-event-making-noise-and-getting-things-done-youth-inclusion-and-advocacy-for-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2022\/01\/31\/report-and-event-making-noise-and-getting-things-done-youth-inclusion-and-advocacy-for-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"Report and Event: Making Noise and Getting Things Done &#8211; Youth Inclusion and Advocacy for Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To coincide with the High-Level Global Conference on Youth Inclusive Peace Processes, the <strong>QUT Centre for Justice<\/strong> hosted an event to present key insights from the report <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tinyurl.com\/MakingNoiseReport\"><strong>Making Noise and Getting Things Done: Youth Inclusion and Advocacy for Peace.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This report extends the evidence base on youth-led peace processes, and peace advocacy more broadly in Afghanistan, South Sudan and Myanmar. Drawing on stories of young people\u2019s peace work and their proposals for substantive engagement, the report offers practical recommendations for how national, regional and international stakeholders can support and amplify the fundamental and vital peace work youth are leading in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>A video recording of the event can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/67-e0-THS_E\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A thread of live tweeting, which includes some of the highlights of the event, can also be found <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hmberents\/status\/1483067372290609156?s=20\">here.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Presenters at the event were:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Youth Researchers:<\/strong> Savannah Spalding, Casey Odgers-Jewell, and Hayley Payne<br \/>\nYouth Peacebuilders from Afghanistan, South Sudan and Myanmar<br \/>\n<strong>Opening Remarks:<\/strong> Saji Prelis<br \/>\n<strong>Moderators:<\/strong> Drs.
